Abstract

Digitalization and e-commerce have brought about a significant transformation in international trade. This article explores the opportunities and challenges that arise as this technology develops. The first opportunity presented is greater global accessibility. Through e-commerce platforms, companies can easily reach international markets without traditional geographic limitations. This provides the opportunity for faster and more efficient expansion. In addition, digitalization allows the trading process to become more efficient and automated. From supply chain to payments, technology has reduced the costs and time required to conduct transactions, increasing productivity and profitability. However, there are also challenges that need to be overcome. One of them is the issue of data security and privacy. In a connected digital environment, the risk of cyber attacks and data breaches increases. Adequate safeguards must be put in place to ensure the security of customer information and transactions. Apart from that, there are also challenges related to regulations and policies. Each country has different rules regarding international trade and e-commerce. Harmonization of regulations is important so that there are no obstacles that hinder the growth of digital trade. By addressing these challenges, digitalization and e-commerce have the potential to continue to transform the international trade landscape, creating new opportunities for economic growth and closer global connections.
