Abstract

Learning media can help the teaching and learning process. Choosing the right learning media such as Board Game Media gives students the opportunity to study questions through problem solving steps. Researchers modified a game inspired by a local game from Semarang, namely Culinary Racing, by changing the game to Crown Racing, where the content of this game is used as a means of educational learning to develop and test the effectiveness of the board game "Crown Racing" in increasing learning motivation and understanding of social studies material for grade 6 students at SD Negeri 2 Pengkol. This research uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation for 15 grade 6 students. This game is designed to present social studies questions in an interesting and interactive form, so that it can motivate students to learn. Shows that the use of "Crown Racing" significantly increases students' motivation and understanding of social studies material. Evaluation was carried out through a questionnaire which indicated a positive response from students, with a high percentage of understanding of the material. Apart from that, this game is also considered easy to understand by the majority of students. Thus, "Racing Mahkota" is proven to be an effective and innovative learning medium for improving the quality of social studies learning in elementary schools.The board game "Crown Racing" is effective in increasing learning motivation and understanding of social studies material for grade 6 students at SD Negeri 2 Pengkol.
