Abstract

This study discusses the design of a website-based minimarket cashier management
simulation application using the Discrete Event Simulation (DES) method. The main
objective of this study is to simulate the customer service and cashier management
processes interactively to determine the optimal number of cashiers according to the
operational conditions of the minimarket. The application was developed using web
technologies, namely HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, so that it can be run directly through a
browser without additional installation. Through the DES approach, the system is able to
model customer arrival events, service times, and daily revenue and operational cost
calculations. The simulation results show that setting the right number of cashiers can
improve service efficiency and maintain the financial balance of the minimarket. This
application can be used as an analysis tool for retail managers in making operational
decisions, as well as an educational medium for understanding the dynamics of digital
cashier management.
